DoctorNDTV Survey

DoctorNDTV.com conducted a survey, to find out whether or not death penalty is justified. Surprisingly, a large majority (83 percent) of the people felt that this form of the punishment should be retained. Also, almost all felt that the condemned prisoner could offer his organs for transplantation. Only half of the survey participants felt that doctors could be involved at some stage of the execution of the punishment.

When asked how death penalty should be executed, half the users felt that using injections was the best mode of execution, while some felt that using an electric chair could help carry this out. Only a minority (10 percent) felt that hanging should be the mode of death penalty.

we have a provision that the death penalty is applicable only in the rarest of rare case which is how it should be.keeping certain criminals in jail would be laying ourselves open to future blackmail like the kanishka hijacking.

since hanging is a primitive method which is very ghastly it should be substituted by giving the condemned person a lethal injection

only this will discourage criminals for performing such heinous crimes.

the justice system in india is too far gone to be of any deterrent to criminals.enforcing the death penalty will deter criminals in india-saudi arabia/singapore etc have the system in place and are far safer places to live in.in india all systems are in pl

rather than death penalty a criminal of that sorts should be given immense physical torture - a tooth for a tooth & an eye for an eye - hamurabis code

eye for an eye.. hanging for murder

since a death penalty is given to those who have committed heinous crimes, the execution should be performed using the most barbaric/scary method. i think hanging or using electric chair will be appropriate. such methods will definitely scare some people f
