DoctorNDTV conducted a survey on Private vs Government Medical Colleges wherein the participants were asked to give their opinion about private medical colleges.

About 94% of the participants felt that private colleges were primarily being run for profit. About a half of them perceived these colleges to be not as good as the government colleges (while a third did not feel so) and were mostly set up for political reasons. A significant percentage of the survey takers felt that the private colleges charged high capitation fees inspite of being forbidden by the Supreme court. Inspite of the above findings, only about less than a third of the people expressed that such private colleges should be shut down.
