DoctorNDTV conducted a survery on the priorities for relief in a disaster.
The results, as expected, show that the main priority should be providing clean drinking water to the affected people. This was followed by the provision of shelter, medicines, clothing and blankets. Monetary rehabilitation was seen as a necessary provision but was not given as much importance as those mentioned above. Although, psychological counselling and vocational rehabilitation are considered as important components of relief package in any disaster to help the affected cope with the tragedy, these were not ranked very high in our survey.
