The survey, conducted on whether or not doctors should be allowed to go on strike, revealed rather mixed results. Half the participants felt that doctors should never be allowed to do so while almost one third felt that they could, since they too were humans and had a right. A majority of people (64%) felt that doctors should not go on strike for a higher pay. For reasons like when a doctor has been physically assaulted or treated unfairly by an institution or when there is corruption in an institution, there was no clear YES or NO. Interestingly enough, a large proportion of the participants felt that doctors should not strike when unaffordable health charges are imposed on the poor.
