The web survey conducted about the
'Health Priorities for the New Government' asked the website visitors to
prioritise the health issues facing the new government such as providing safe
drinking water, improving public sector hospitals, standards of medical
education, quality of drugs and providing health insurance to the lower
calsses.
A total of 290 people took the survery and the general feeling that came across was that providing clean and safe
drinking water needed to be the No. 1 priority (42%). Improving the government
hospital services was an importnat issue for 32% of the people while a little
more than quarter felt that medical education and drug quality needed
improvement and gave it a priority of three and four respectively. More than
one fifth (22.4%) of the visitors wanted health insurance for the
middle and lower classes to be an agenda for the new government.
